Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (Gym) Winter Course and Spring Course
The Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (Gym) will provide you with the professionally recognised qualification you need to become a trusted Gym Instructor.
This is the essential qualification employers want to see if you want to enter the fitness industry.
On this course you will complete anatomy and physiology modules that will be backed up with practical sessions. You will learn how to write exercise programmes and then how deliver these in a gym based environment.
• Anatomy and physiology for exercise
• Support clients taking part in exercise and physical activity
• Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
• Principles of exercise, fitness and health
• Preparing for gym-based exercise
• Instructing gym-based exercise
There are no prerequisites for this course, but familiarity with a gym based environment would be beneficial.
Please be aware that elements of the course are practical in nature so appropriate gym apparel is required.
Candidates are assessed via theory exams, worksheets, and observation of instructing gym based sessions. You will need to bring a participant for two of the practical assessments.

9.30am - 4.00pm
22nd November, 29th November and 6th December 2017.
With assessments on 13th December 2017 and 10th January 2018.
Reassessments will be on 28th February 2018.

19th March and 20th March 2018
With assessments on 11th April and 18th April 2018
Reassessments wil be on 6th June 2018.
In addition to times stated above it is expected that learners will complete course work and revision outside of these times.
