Provisional dates 11th-16th January 2027 On this trip we will be spending three nights in Rome, exploring its ancient origins, through to its Christian heart, the Renaissance, as well as the more recent legacies of Fascism and World War.
In addition, we will spend another two nights in the Bay of Naples, allowing us to spend a day in the culturally rich city of Naples, before a final stop at the ancient ruins of Pompeii.
The price of this trip is expected to be around £750-800 and includes the following: • return flights with baggage allowance • airport transfers in UK and Italy • shared accommodation (B&B) • entrance to the Vatican Museums, the Colosseum & Roman Forum, and Pompeii.
Students will need their own funds for local travel and public transport, food and drink. Students will also need to be prepared to do lots of walking, in the region of 20,000-30,000 steps per day. You will also have free time to explore sites and places on your own.
To secure your place, you will need to pay a non-refundable £200 deposit by 27th March. After this, you can enter into a voluntary payment plan to spread the cost of the trip. The trip is designed for History students, but is open to all students.
