Parking Permits

GUIDANCE NOTES FOR ISSUE OF A UNIVERSITY CAR PARKING PERMITT

  1. There are a limited number of car parking spaces on each Campus. Staff, Students & Visitors are strongly advised to use alternative methods of travelling to the University.
  2. Staff and Students can gain discounted access to bus services throughout Gloucestershire with their University ID card. Further details available on the University website: ac.uk
  3. There are cycling initiatives, providing cycle paths around both Cheltenham and Gloucester. All campuses have shower facilities. Cycles and motorcycles do not require a permit but must not occupy a car parking space. Motor cycles details should however be registered with Security at [email protected]
  4. Students in hall of residence are not allowed to bring vehicles to University unless given prior authorisation in writing by Accommodation Dept. Applications without permission will not be processed.
  5. Overnight parking is not permitted on any Campus without prior permission from Security.  Any unauthorised vehicle parked may be subject to enforcement of the parking regulations through the issuing of a parking charge notice.
  6. Only vehicles registered with a current valid University Parking permit are entitled to park on Campus during the hours of 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday. It is important to note that a permit does not guarantee a parking space.
  7. All vehicles used for attending University must be registered.  The permit can only be used for one vehicle at a time. If you bring another vehicle to site it must be registered with [email protected] prior to arrival. Permits cannot be shared with third party vehicles.
  8. Refunds will not be provided – unless under exceptional circumstances beyond the users control.
  9. Any changes must be reported to [email protected] prior to parking on site
  10. Once ordered, users should display the emailed temporary parking permit in their windscreen (max 2 weeks) whilst we register your details to the parking enforcement software. You will no longer receive a permit to display as the system is now paperless after the temporary permit 2 week display period.
  11. University security officers will monitor the usage and security of the car parks. Failure to adhere to Parking Restrictions (e.g. blocking fire exits, unauthorised use of disabled or reserved spaces, parking on lawns/grounds, or double yellow lines and unauthorised overnight parking) may result in the vehicle receiving an immediate parking charge notice of £60.00 (reduced to £30.00 if paid within 14 days).
  12. Failure to adhere to guidelines may result in the issuing a parking charge notice of £60.00 (reduced to £30.00 if paid within 14 days) and/ or disciplinary action in line with University policies and procedures.
  13. The University accepts no responsibility for any vehicle or its contents whilst within the University grounds, however caused. Vehicles are parked entirely at the owners risk.
  14. All information held by the University is governed by the Data Protection Act.
  15. If any part of the application is not completed, the correct payment included, or you are not eligible for a permit the application will not be processed.
  16. If false information is given within the application or there is any attempt to defraud permits the University may revoke the permit without refund and/or carryout disciplinary action/fraud investigation in line with University policies and procedures.

Change of vehicle details: Should your vehicle details change, please email new details to [email protected] prior to attending site
