Parking PermitsParking Permit Guidelines 2024/25 GUIDANCE NOTES FOR ISSUE OF A UNIVERSITY CAR PARKING PERMIT 1. There are a limited number of car parking spaces on each Campus. Staff, Students & Visitors are strongly advised to use alternative methods of travelling to the University. 2. There are cycling initiatives, providing cycle paths around both Cheltenham and Gloucester. All campuses have shower facilities. Cycles and motorcycles do not require a permit but must not occupy a car parking space. Motor cycles details should however be registered with Security at [email protected] 3. Students in hall of residence are not permitted to bring vehicles to University unless given prior authorisation in writing by Accommodation Dept. Applications without permission and relevant documents supplied will not be processed. 4. Blue badge holders need to register via the permit system in order to park onsite free of charge. Failure to do so will result in a daily fee being required. Blue Badges must be displayed at all times when parked with in an accessible bay. Failure to do so may result in a parking charge notice. 5. Overnight parking is not permitted on any Campus without prior permission from Security. Any unauthorised vehicle parked may be subject to enforcement of the parking regulations through the issuing of a parking charge notice. 6. Only vehicles registered with a current valid University Parking permit or the appropriate fee paid vis Just Park or P&D machines are entitled to park. It is important to note that a permit does not guarantee a parking space. 7. All permit holder vehicles used for attending University must be registered via the permit system. The permit can only be used for one vehicle at a time. If you bring another vehicle to site it must be registered via the permit system prior to arrival. Permits cannot be shared with third party vehicles. 8. Refunds will not be provided – unless under exceptional circumstances beyond the users control. An administration charge maybe applicable. 9. Any changes must be registered on the permit system prior to parking on site 10. You will no longer receive a hardcopy permit to display as the system is now paperless. 11. University security officers will monitor the usage and security of the car parks. Failure to adhere to Parking Restrictions (e.g. non payment, blocking fire exits, unauthorised use of disabled or reserved spaces, parking on lawns/grounds, or double yellow lines and unauthorised overnight parking) will result in the vehicle receiving an immediate parking charge notice of £60.00 (reduced to £30.00 if paid within 14 days). 12. Failure to adhere to guidelines may result in the issuing a parking charge notice of £60.00 (reduced to £30.00 if paid within 14 days) and/ or disciplinary action in line with University policies and procedures. 13. The University accepts no responsibility for any vehicle or its contents whilst within the University grounds, however caused. Vehicles are parked entirely at the owners risk. 14. All information held by the University is governed by the Data Protection Act. 15. If any part of the application is not completed, or its deemed you are not eligible for a permit the application will be rejected. 16. If false information is given within the application or there is any attempt to defraud permits the University may revoke the permit without refund and/or carryout disciplinary action/fraud investigation in line with University policies and procedures. 17. Staff are reminded that they are not eligible for a student parking permit whilst under the employment of the University of Gloucestershire.
