Description

Rural Development Partnerships: Guidelines for Good Practice in the UK - Lessons from the PRIDE project - a reasearch study of local integrated rural development partnerships in six European countries.
Countryside and Community Reasearch Unit

Detailed Description

During the past few years it has become widely accepted that there is a need to promote diversified and integrated rural development in Europe - with a strong emphasis upon local solutions for local problems.  To this end, European, national and regional policies for rural areas increasingly support the building of 'local capacity' and co-operation in partnerships between the public, private and voluntary sectors.  Partnerships are used to generate and support local initiatives and allocate financial support.

It will be of direct interest and relevance to the sponsors, funders and practitioners of the growing number of rural partnerships in the UK and the communities which they aim to serve.
