Description

The Cyder Press is pleased to reprint a new selection of UA’s poems Homing In chosen by herself and Dr. R. V. Bailey as amongst their favourites to do with Gloucestershire and its environs

Detailed Description

The well-known and much-loved poet U. A. Fanthorpe lives in Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire and is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Gloucestershire. In 2005 she donated a large number of her papers to the University Archive which will form the basis of a growing U. A. Fanthorpe Collection. To celebrate this generous gift The Cyder Press is pleased to reprint a new selection of UA's poems Homing In chosen by herself and Dr. R. V. Bailey as amongst their favourites to do with Gloucestershire and its environs. Dr. Bailey has also produced the ten original oil-paintings from which the illustrations to the poems in this volume have been made and a witty personal introduction to UA's poetic career. The poems themselves are loosely grouped - especially places and people around UA's beloved Wotton - according to their treatment in the introduction and Dr. Bailey's illustrations are also loosely related to individual poems.
