Join us on a trip to the Forest of Dean on Wednesday 30th April! We’ll visit the Dean Heritage Centre to explore the area’s unique history and what it was like to live there, from its formation as a royal hunting forest to its status as a coal mining area in Victorian times. The Forest has a strong cultural identity, and we’ll view original material by Forest authors in the archive and hear how their writing contributes to the literary landscape of the Forest. There’ll be an opportunity to buy lunch in the café at the Dean Heritage Centre and we’ll also go for a walk to experience the beautiful forest surroundings.
The coach will leave FCH at 0915 sharp from the bus stop on Swindon Road next to the Hindu community centre. We’ll aim to be back at FCH by 5pm.
The trip is FREE, but the university is entitled to charge £10 if you book but do not attend without a valid reason. Trip leader contact: Rowan Middleton [email protected]
