Design Matters: Strategic Thinking 10 October 2025

Design Matters: Strategic Thinking 10 October 2025

Description

Design Matters: Strategic Thinking

 10th October, 6pm - 9pm

Park Campus, Cheltenham

Students from any institution can attend for free (just bring your student ID or show us your StudentBeans or Unidays account on your phone).

General admission is only £5, which is an absolute steal.

Join us for a special Design Matters event where we’ll explore the often-unsung backbone of great design: Strategy. Hear from the people who turn complexity into clarity, and chaos into gold.

As AI becomes more embedded in the creative sector (the good and the bad), strategic thinking is playing an increasingly vital role. Agencies are heightening the emphasis on how their creative outputs are being shaped by research, insight, and intentional decision-making.

Reflecting this shift, more roles in the design industry are incorporating "strategy" into their titles - highlighting the importance of insight-driven ideas in shaping impactful work.

It's a very exciting time to hear about strategy from some incredible strategists, so here's our lineup:

Spotlight Slot:

Connie Borthwick – Middleweight Strategist, Oakwood (Bristol), UoG BA Graphic Design alumna

Speakers:

Oscar Mason – Strategist, Outlaw (Bristol)

Dido Brewster – Senior Strategist, Koto (Berlin)
